hey, i’m jude
about me
I am a Counsellor. I work from a client-centred, feminist perspective. This means my practice is based on principles of unconditional positive regard, empathy + congruence. I value + show respect for my client’s wisdom and autonomy, by working collaboratively with my clients.
I am a Listener. I listen deeply: under and within words & silence, for the healing & hope within experiences of pain, gratitude, beauty, struggle, disruption, loss, growth, confusion & change.
I am a Contemplative Artist. I ponder, reflect & respond to the the world from the quiet place within me. My art-making is a way of expressing what I’m hearing, and a way of deepening an inner dialogue with this Wisdom. The endless possibilities of paint, colour, textiles, beautiful spaces, & nature inspire me. I create when there’s something I need to process, or that I want to express or make tangible.
I make + remake; it’s more about the process than a destination for me.
I provide support + resources for people exploring their inner, soulful world because when we’re seen & heard by a compassionate, curious witness, it creates new possibilities and helps us re-connect with our hidden wholeness.
why choose me as your counsellor?
I’ve dwelt in hard places & lived my own Dark Night Journey. I have soulful longings that are kinda messy, complicated + nuanced. Loss has transformed my plans, illusion of control & nerdy knowledge into something more human, honest, messy & real.
I believe loving-kindness can heal us.
In previous versions of my life, I have been a hospital chaplain, a Spiritual Formation Director & a Pastor. I have years of experience providing soulcare + compassionate support to people exploring their inner world + meaning making, when life doesn’t always go as we expected or hoped.
I have lived experience of religious harm within a faith community. I know what it costs us to be harmed in this way. And I know what it takes to rebuild a life from the ground up, when all the familiar landmarks have been uprooted. My speciality is supporting people who have experienced spiritual harm or religious trauma, but I am here for any person who feels I am able to be of service to them.
things I love :
being at home + being in the wild
space to reflect + opportunities to connect
textiles + colour + paint + yarn + nesting + making + creating
accompanying + supporting people in their unique contexts as they create, nourish + tend to their soulful life

I dedicate my practice to the relief of suffering.
May you be held in compassion.
May your struggles + sorrows be eased.
May you be safe.
May you find peace + be free.
